Co-Managed IT
Augment your in-house IT team with a senior bench, 24/7 monitoring and project capacity while your people keep control of day-to-day decisions.
What Co-Managed IT means in practice
Co-managed IT pairs your internal IT staff with our engineers and tooling. You keep the people who understand your business; we add monitoring, security operations, escalation expertise and surge capacity.
A two-person internal IT team cannot be an expert in networking, identity, cloud, security and compliance at once, and cannot cover nights, holidays and vacations. Co-management fills those gaps without the disruption or cost of replacing the team.
Problems this removes
- Internal IT stretched thin across support and projects
- Key-person risk when a senior admin takes leave or resigns
- No overnight or weekend coverage
- Security tooling bought but under-operated
- Projects that stall because nobody has specialist time
What you get
- Shared RMM and documentation platform with your team
- Defined division of responsibilities written into a RACI
- Overflow helpdesk and after-hours coverage
- Specialist project engineers on demand
- Joint quarterly planning and budget forecasting
- Runbooks and knowledge transfer so your team grows
Typical platforms and tools
01Handling your data responsibly
Access to your systems is controlled: named engineers, individual accounts, multi-factor authentication and an audit trail. We document where co-managed it data is stored, who can reach it and how it is retained or deleted. Our practices are designed with PIPEDA and BC PIPA in mind, and we align vendor selections with SOC 2-aligned providers wherever possible.
02How we measure co-managed it
What gets measured improves. For co-managed it we agree a small set of indicators in advance and report them monthly or quarterly. General service targets apply as well: a 99.9% uptime target on managed services, a 15-minute response target for priority tickets and round-the-clock monitoring. If a target is missed, we explain why and what is being done.
03Our delivery method for co-managed it
We treat every co-managed it engagement as a small project with a start, an end and a measurable outcome. The sequence is assess, design, implement, validate and hand over. At each step you see exactly what is changing, why and when. Documentation is created as we go and delivered at the end so your organisation is not dependent on one engineer's memory. Target: documented RACI within 30 days, after-hours coverage live in the first onboarding cycle, quarterly joint roadmap review.
04Getting started
Starting is straightforward. Book a free 30-minute consultation, share a high-level description of your environment, and we will propose a path. Within a few days you receive a written scope and fixed quote. If you proceed, we collect access, schedule the first work window and introduce your named senior contact. Because there is no lock-in, we expect to earn continued work through results.
05Typical clients for co-managed it
Clients who benefit most from co-managed it usually share three traits: they depend on technology to serve customers, they hold information they cannot afford to lose or leak, and they do not want to build a full IT department. Common examples include media & creative agencies, real estate and logistics & transportation organisations. The common thread is a desire for predictable operations and a partner who communicates plainly.
06Starting prices
As a guide, co-managed it is priced as a defined project from $2,500 or as part of a managed plan of $89 to $199 per user per month. vCIO retainers start from $1,500 per month and security assessments from $1,900. A 10% launch discount applies, 5% GST is added, and there is no lock-in. Call (604) 632-4959 or email info@SAZ.ca for a free 30-minute consultation and a fixed quote.
07Part of a wider technology plan
Rarely does a single service stand alone. Co-Managed IT typically intersects with Cloud Migration, VoIP & Teams Phone and Email Security & Anti-Phishing, and we plan them together so that identity, devices, networks and data protection fit one design. Our vCIO team keeps the sequence in order, so budget is spent in the right order and every purchase supports the following one.
